Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

CallCentreCV is a South African business ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we handle when you use callcentrecv.co.za, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

CallCentreCV is the responsible party for your personal information under POPIA. Our Information Officer is the owner of CallCentreCV, and you can reach them at hello@callcentrecv.co.za.

While you build your CV

The CV builder runs in your web browser. While you build and preview your CV, the personal details you type (your name, contact details, the companies you worked for, your numbers and your qualifications) stay on your own device and are not sent to us.

So you don't lose your work, your browser keeps a copy of your answers on your own device (in its local storage). You can delete it at any time by pressing Start over in the builder, or by clearing your browser's data for this site.

The CV you buy: we keep a copy

When you press a pay button, the CV (and cover letter, if you're buying one) exactly as it is on your screen is sent to us with your payment, together with your name, cell number, email address, the role you're applying for and your answers. We use it to:

Your private link opens only your paid CV (and cover letter). It can't be guessed from your order code, and search engines are told not to list it. Anyone you give the link to can see your CV, so only send it to yourself or people you trust. The link stops working when your copy is deleted.

When you press Send to my WhatsApp or Send to my email, your own WhatsApp or email app opens with the link already typed in, and you choose where to send it. We don't send the message ourselves and we don't see who you send it to.

The chat assistant

The Ask a question button opens a chat with an AI assistant. What you type is sent to our server and to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI, so it can answer you. We send it the page you are on and the industry you chose, but not your name, contact details or CV. We keep the questions and answers for up to 90 days so we can follow up on questions the assistant couldn't answer and improve its answers. Please don't type ID numbers, card or bank details, or other private information into the chat. If the assistant can't help, it offers you a button to send your question to CallCentreCV on WhatsApp (nothing is sent through WhatsApp unless you tap it and send the message yourself). When this happens we also receive your question, without your name or contact details, as an e-mail and a phone notification so we can follow up. If you choose to leave a WhatsApp number or e-mail address with it, we use it only to reply to you and keep it with the question for up to 90 days.

Sharing your CV with recruiters (only if you say yes)

After you pay, you can tick a box that lets us share your CV and contact details with recruiters and employers who are looking for call centre and customer service people. The box is not ticked unless you tick it, and you get your CV whether you tick it or not.

Only the owner of CallCentreCV can see these copies, on a password-protected page. If you start a payment but don't finish it, the copy is deleted automatically within 3 days. Copies of paid CVs and cover letters are deleted automatically after 12 months. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Anonymous information that helps us improve

Under the Generate my CV button there is a box, ticked unless you untick it, that lets you help other call centre and customer service people. When it's ticked and you've finished with your CV (you pay, download, send feedback or leave the page), we receive an anonymous list of:

This list has no name, contact details or CV in it, and it isn't linked to you or to your payment. We read the options people type before any of them are shown to other customers, and we remove or edit anything that could identify a person or a company. Untick the box if you'd rather not share.

We also count, without identifying anyone, how many people open the form, preview a CV, click pay and download, so we can see where the site needs work.

Requests you type to us

If you use Something else (type it) in the "Want to change something?" panel, the request opens in WhatsApp so you can send it to us, and we receive a copy of the request (without your name or contact details) to improve the builder. If you send it on WhatsApp, we also see your WhatsApp name and number, and we only use them to help you with your CV. Requests typed in the feedback questions reach us with your industry but without your name or contact details. Please don't include personal details in these; we remove anything that identifies a person or company.

Feedback

After your CV is made you can answer a few tap-only questions. If you send them, we receive your answers together with your industry, the role you're applying for, whether you paid, roughly how long the form took and how many jobs, number questions and wins you filled in. We don't receive your name or contact details unless you tick "CallCentreCV may WhatsApp me about my answers". Then we also receive your first name and cell number, and we only use them to contact you about your feedback.

Reviews

If you've paid and choose to leave a review, we receive your star rating, your comment, the first name, job title and town you enter, and your order code (so we know the review is from a customer). We only show it on our website if you ticked the box allowing it and we've checked it. Ask us and we'll delete it.

Which link brought you here

Links we share on social media end in a short label such as ?src=facebook. When you arrive on one, your browser remembers the label for 30 days, and our server adds one to an anonymous count for that platform (and to a second count if you then buy a CV). This tells us which platforms are worth our time. It doesn't identify you.

Spam protection

To stop people flooding the site with fake answers, our server limits how often one visitor can send them. For this it keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date. The code can't be turned back into your IP address, it changes every day, and we clear old codes out regularly, usually within two days.

Payments

Payments are processed by Yoco or Payfast, South African payment providers. You enter your card or bank details on their secure payment pages, not on our site, and we never see or store them. They tell us a payment reference, the amount and whether the payment succeeded. We keep this to unlock your download and for our accounting records.

Website and hosting

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We may use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly visitor statistics, which count visits without cookies and without identifying you.

A few photos on our home page are loaded from Unsplash's image servers (images.unsplash.com), and our fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Like any website, those servers receive technical details such as your IP address when your browser fetches the pictures and fonts.

Information that goes outside South Africa

Some of the services we use process or store information on servers outside South Africa: Cloudflare (our website host, which also stores the copies of the CVs you buy) runs data centres around the world, Anthropic (the chat assistant) is in the United States, emails to hello@callcentrecv.co.za are handled by our email provider, WhatsApp messages by Meta, and the alerts we get about chat questions go through ntfy.sh (a notification service). The fonts (Google Fonts) and a few home-page photos (Unsplash) also load from servers abroad. We only send them what's needed to do what you asked us to, which POPIA allows (section 72), and we use providers with strong security.

What we keep, and for how long

We only share your personal information with Yoco, Payfast, Cloudflare, Anthropic (for the chat), ntfy.sh (alerts about chat questions), our email provider (for emails you send us) and WhatsApp (if you message us there) as described above, and with recruiters and employers only if you tick the box that says we may.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Contact us using the details below. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
